The range of alpine meadows is the heart of the Bieszczady Mountains, famous for its vast, high-altitude meadows that stretch picturesquely above the tree line. This unique area offers tourists some of the most beautiful panoramic views in Poland, which in autumn shimmer with the characteristic, reddish-brown hues of the grasses. Hiking along the ridges of Połonina Wetlińska or Caryńska allows you to experience the true vastness and proximity to the wild, Carpathian nature.
Absence of an upper forest limit
The Bieszczady Mountains feature an unusual vegetation pattern – the spruce forest zone is missing, which means that beech forests transition directly into high-altitude meadows.
