The Bieszczady Forest Railway is the highest-altitude narrow-gauge railway in Poland, built in the late 19th century originally for transporting timber. Today, it is one of the region’s most important tourist attractions, offering scenic rides on historic rolling stock from Majdan through the wild and inaccessible areas of the Bieszczady Mountains. Its uniqueness lies in the combination of a rich history of technology with the opportunity to admire the panorama of the Połonina mountain range from the perspective of historic carriages.
