Built in the second half of the 15th century, the Church of Dębno is one of several churches on the UNESCO World Heritage List of southern Malopolska. It is a Pearl of World Culture, available for daily visits. The church is one of the best-preserved Gothic wooden churches and at the same time one of the most famous Polish monuments at home and abroad (it was nominated as the only wooden church in the Seven Wonders of Poland competition), distinguished by its silhouette integrated into the landscape (practically unchanged since the time of its construction) and exceptionally valuable movable equipment.
Known for... the film!
In the church in Debno in the TV series 'Janosik', the main character was married to Maryna.
Antique bells
The attraction of this unusual church is the bells usually lying in the chancel. They are very old - they may even have been made in the 15th century.
Possible tours
The church can be visited throughout the year; it is advisable to make an appointment with a guide by telephone.
