The castellum, as a defensive manor house, was built in Frydman as a result of the extension of the defence tower already located there in the second half of the 16th century. By 1910, however, it had been badly neglected, which forced the local priest, Jozef Noworolski, to rebuild it, which, however, led to the castellum losing its Renaissance charm - the priest wanted to adapt it for residential use. Today the castellum is in the hands of the heirs of Father Noworolski and is not open to tourists.

Many owners
The castellum once belonged to a number of families: Horvaths, Salamons and Noworolskis.

Unusual architectural elements
On the building we can see an alcove - a corner, usually square or rectangular in plan, clearly protruding from the body of the building, with a separate roof. The one in the castellum, however, is enclosed by helmets.
