Explore Place

Zielone Skałki is a range of limestone formations in the Spiš Pieniny mountains, characterized by a unique landscape of steep, forest-covered rocks stretching between the Czorsztyn Reservoir and the main ridge of these mountains. Most of the area is under strict protection and is part of the Pieniny National Park. Despite the protection, in the 1990s, after the Czorsztyn Reservoir was filled with water, the foothills of Zielone Skałki were flooded, and the eastern part now forms a peninsula on the reservoir.

  • Legends

Legends about hidden treasures are associated with the Green Rocks. It is said that the parish priest from Mania searched for them here.

  • A changed landscape

In the 1990s, after the Czorsztyn Reservoir was filled with water, the foothills of the Zielone Skały mountains were flooded, and now the eastern part forms a peninsula in this reservoir.

  • Caves

There are two small caves in Zielone Skałki: Schronisko w Zielonych Skałkach and Schronisko w Zielonych Skałkach Górne.
