Lake Czorsztyn was created by building a dam in Niedzica, located between the Spiš Pieniny and the Pieniny mountains. It is 9 km long and has an average width of 1.3 km. Its most important function is to protect the Dunajec valley from flooding by storing excess water during flood events.
Sightseeing cruise
The “Harnaś” boat regularly cruises around the reservoir, taking tourists on a scenic route with educational elements.

Two castles
The Czorsztyn Castle and the “Dunajec” Castle are located by the lake. The “Dunajec” and “Halny” boats regularly sail between them.

Among the mountains
The lake is surrounded by the Gorce mountains to the north, the Pieniny Właściwe mountains to the east, and the Pieniny Spiskie mountains to the south.

You can cycle around the reservoir; the Velo Dunajec trail runs along its bank.
