The Inhalatorium is a historic building in the modernist style, which is a must-see for anyone visiting Szczawnica or walking along the blue trail Szczawnica ⇔ Sewerynówka. The attraction is not only the stunning appearance of the building itself, but also the picture-perfect surroundings guaranteed by the Upper Park. However, it must be remembered that this is first and foremost a sanatorium offering numerous therapeutic treatments, specialist advice and accommodation, making it an ideal stop before returning to the trail or a place to rest and improve your health.
-
Building design
The Inhalatorium project was created by Stanislaw Dziewolski, who was also the owner of nearby Kroscienko.
-
Weapons composition
During the Second World War, weapons and ammunition were hidden in the attic of the Inhalatorium. Due to the threat of the Germans/III Reich blowing up the facility, most of the equipment was moved to another location.
-
Precursor
Before the sanatorium was built, the oldest spa house in Szczawnica, the so-called Castle, stood on its site, where Aleksander Fredro, among others, was treated.
-
Historic architecture
The building was built in a modernist style in the 1930s, and is also located in the Upper Park, which is inspired by French royal parks.
