Explore Place
The promenade is the main pedestrian and cycling path connecting the lower and upper parts of Szczawnica. It starts at the lower station of the PKL Palenica cable car, then runs along both banks of the Grajcarka River, ending at the point where it flows into the Dunajec River. The promenade is divided into two sections: a pedestrian and cycling path located on the left bank of the Grajcarka, and a wide recreational promenade on the right side.
The Spring
Located between the outdoor gym and the sports fields is a small spring with potable water. The water flowing from this source is not classified as medicinal, but it does contain a high amount of iron, as evidenced by the reddish sediment that remains at the bottom of a kettle after the water has been boiled.
Bridges
Along the promenade, there are 5 bridges that allow for easy movement between the walkway and the pedestrian/bicycle path. Each structure has its own name (the Flisak Bridge, the Lovers’ Bridge, etc.) and is beautifully decorated with flowers in the summer.
Bicycles
During the summer, several bicycle and scooter rental shops operate along the promenade, offering both recreational and high-performance equipment. The promenade has extensive cycling infrastructure: the Velo Dunajec trail runs through it, and it is located right next to the Palenica bike park.
Winter
And in winter, the promenade is also a great place to relax. The frozen Grajcarek stream creates a unique atmosphere and makes being in this place enjoyable despite the cold. Furthermore, the Ski Arena Palenica and ski equipment rental shops are located nearby.
