The valley behind Mnich is a high-mountain offshoot of the Rybiego Potoku Valley in the High Tatras, which was previously used for grazing purposes. This area became the subject of early scientific research conducted by Stanisław Staszic, and today a popular hiking trail leading to Szpiglasowa Pass runs through it. A distinctive feature of the valley is the seasonal Stawki Staszica ponds and numerous caves, including one of the deepest in the area – Studnia w Mnichu. The rugged, rocky landscape makes this place a popular destination for both hikers and mountaineers heading towards the cliffs of Mnich.
