The Western Tatras are a vast part of the highest range of the Carpathian Mountains, characterized by dome-shaped peaks and extensive, grassy meadows. This region is famous for its longest and most beautiful valley floors, such as the Kościeliska Valley and the Chochołowska Valley, which are accessible to tourists of varying levels of experience. The highest point in the Polish part of this range is Starorobociański Wierch, which rises to an altitude of 2176 meters above sea level.
The Kingdom of Caves
This is where the largest cluster of caves in Poland is located, including the deepest and longest one – the Wielka Śnieżna Cave.
Red Peaks
The popular Red Peaks range owes its name to a plant called Eriophorum vaginatum, which turns a rusty color in the autumn, giving the slopes a unique hue.

Limestone formation
Unlike the High Tatras, which are primarily made of granite, a large part of the Western Tatras is composed of limestone and dolomite, which promotes the abundant growth of plants that thrive in calcareous environments, such as the Alpine aster.
The largest meadow
This mountain range is home to Chochołowska Meadow, which is the largest meadow in the Polish Tatra Mountains and attracts thousands of tourists every spring with its famous blooming crocuses.
