The Chapel of St. John the Baptist is located in the Chochołowska Valley in the Western Tatras and was built in 1958, originally for the needs of the TV series “Janosik.” This picturesque, wooden building in the traditional highland style is covered with wooden shingles and features a unique interior with an altar made of unhewn wood. Today, the chapel is one of the most important tourist attractions in the valley, attracting visitors with both its cinematic history and its exceptional location against the backdrop of the mountain landscape.
