Tarnica, rising to 1,346 meters above sea level, is the highest and most distinctive peak in the Polish Bieszczady Mountains, characterized by its silhouette with two peaks and steep slopes. As one of the most attractive viewpoints in the Bieszczady National Park, it offers tourists a unique panorama and trails leading through picturesque alpine meadows and rare rocky barrens found in these mountains. At its summit stands a monumental cross commemorating the expedition of Karol Wojtyła in 1953, which gives this place particular historical and symbolic significance.
