Halicz is the third highest peak in the Polish Bieszczady mountains, located in the Tarnica group along the Main Beskid Trail. The mountain is famous for one of the most beautiful panoramic views in the region, which includes, among other things, the Ukrainian Bieszczady and Gorgany mountain ranges, as well as the presence of rare alpine plant species found in Poland. According to legend, the name of the peak refers to the former meeting point of the borders of Poland, Hungary, and Ruthenia, which, combined with the rugged, high-mountain landscape, gives it a unique historical and natural character.
