Bukowe Berdo is a picturesque, elongated massif in the Tarnica Group of the Bieszczady Mountains, characterized by three peaks (up to 1311 meters above sea level) and numerous sandstone rock outcrops. The name of the peak comes from an old term for a steep, rocky slope and the beech forests growing at its foot; this area is a habitat for rare plants, such as Moldavian hellebore. The hiking trails running along the ridge offer some of the most beautiful panoramic views in the entire Bieszczady Mountains, including views of Tarnica, Halicz, and the mountains on the Ukrainian side.
