The Wysokie Skałki Reserve is a landscape nature reserve located on the highest peak of the Pieniny Mountains - Wysoka (1050 m above sea level). It was established in 1961, inter alia, due to the occurrence of the only preserved natural upper alpine spruce forest in the Pieniny.
Views
From the top of Wysoka there are impressive views of the Radziejowa range, Babia Góra, the Tatra Mountains and the Pieniny Mountains.
Lemkos
Between 1947 and 1957, the Lemkos severely depleted the area for economic purposes. Fortunately, the forest recovered after several decades.
Unique plants
The reserve is home to such rare plants as the golden-headed lily and the alpine clematis.
