The Józef Szalay Pieniny Museum is a place where you can take a journey through the history of the Pieniny region. The current exhibition tells the story of the life of the inhabitants before the establishment of the health resort in Szczawnica and their relationship with the Dunajec River and the mountain pastures. When visiting the museum, one discovers the cultural and natural wealth of the region, from the 13th century to the present day.
Relocated Museum
Between 1972 and 2012, the Pieniny Museum was located at Štiavnica's Dietl Square in the "Palace" villa, but it was relocated and has been operating since 2014 in the building of the former border guard station in Szlachtowa.
