Explore Place
The Józef Szalay Pieniny Museum is a place where you can take a journey through the history of the Pieniny region. The current exhibition tells the story of the lives of the region’s inhabitants before the establishment of the spa town of Szczawnica and their connection to the Dunajec River and the mountain meadows. By visiting the museum, you can discover the rich cultural and natural heritage of the region, from the 13th century to the present day.
The Relocated Museum
From 1972 to 2012, the Pieniny Museum was located on Dietla Square in Szczawnica, in the “Palace” villa. However, it was relocated and has been operating since 2014 in the building that formerly housed a border guard station in Szlachtowa.
