1997The dam, built in 1975, was met with numerous protests from environmentalists at the time. However, in 1997, it protected nearby towns from the Flood of the Millennium.
A section of the power plant’s interior is open for guided tours.
The dam regulates the water level of the Dunajec River in coordination with the association of boatmen, ensuring that rafting trips are always possible.
