Karb is a narrow mountain pass at an altitude of 1853 meters above sea level, located in the High Tatras between the peaks of Mały Kościelec and Kościelec. It is an important junction for hiking trails, separating the Zielona Valley from the Czarna Gąsienicowa Valley, and offers a spectacular panorama of the Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy lake. This place is distinguished by its historical stone steps that make the ascent easier, and by the fact that the first recorded winter ascent to the pass in 1908 was made by Mieczysław Karłowicz and Roman Kordys.
