Zaskalnik is a waterfall located on Partyzantów Street in Sewerynówka, a district of Szczawnica that is situated away from the main roads and traffic. The cascades are located in a basin and separated from the road by a rocky wall with steep steps. However, it is worth making the effort and tackling the challenging descent, as the views are impressive regardless of the time of day or year. The water cascading down from a height of 5 meters has, over hundreds of years, carved out a significant depression, creating a beautiful, natural pool surrounded by gigantic boulders.
The Black Trail
The Black Trail runs near Zaskalnik, connecting the shelter at Bereśnik with Sewerynówka. It is the fastest route from the upper part of Szczawnica to the waterfall.
The Blue Trail
The waterfall is also located near the Blue Trail, which starts in the center of Szczawnica and leads towards Przehyba. The route mainly follows forest roads suitable for cars and bicycles, but it also has sections that can only be traversed on foot.
The little train
A blue and yellow little train runs regularly between Szczawnica’s Dietla Square and the waterfall. It’s a kind of bus that connects the most popular attractions in Szczawnica. You can check the schedule on the resort’s website.
