Atractiveness of the Lubań Range

The range can be perfectly seen from the Pieniny, the Beskid Mountains or even the Tatra Mountains. It is famous for its magnificent views of the Tatra Mountains and neighbouring mountain ranges, which, especially in the early morning, can be very impressive when the mists rise over the nearby Czorsztyn Reservoir.

View tower on Luban

The tower was built in 2014-2015 as part of the project "Enclave of active leisure in the heart of the Gorce Mountains - cycling, hiking and ski tourism trails in the Ochotnica Dolna Commune" co-financed by the European Union. The tower of wooden construction with a total height of 30 m has a viewing terrace at a height of 20.70 m above ground level. 138 stairs lead to the viewing platform, with rest platforms every 8 stairs.

Flora of the range

Forests overgrowing the range are mainly Lower Carpathian beech, beech and fir forests with admixture of sycamore and ash. Remnants of an upper alpine primeval forest have survived only on the top of Lubań. Small enclaves of larch forests have been preserved. A nature reserve of Larch trees has been established on one of them. The flora of the Lubań Range differs slightly from that of the rest of the Gorce Mountains. This is a result of a warmer and drier microclimate. From plant species that are rare in Poland in the Lubań Range, the occurrence of lilac cuckoo and black iris was found.
