Krościenko nad Dunajcem is a small town in the southern part of Poland. It is known primarily as a tourist destination due to its numerous natural advantages: the Dunajec River Gorge, its proximity to the Slovak part of the Pieniny Mountains, and its proximity to mountain peaks. Kroscienko is a village eagerly visited both in summer and winter; in summer it is possible to admire the beauty of nature in its full splendour, and around the New Year - when the mountain peaks are covered with snow for good - we can indulge in white madness, if only by skiing.

Rafting
It concerns not so much Krościenko itself as the municipality. You can float down the Dunajec River Gorge with rafters from 1 April to 31 October. The most popular route is the one running from Sromowce Niżne to Szczawnica.

Kroscienko a town of momentous stature?
In the Middle Ages, Kroscienko was located on the royal road (the so-called Via Regia) leading from Krakow to Buda. Until the mid-20th century there were still weekly markets, and until the second half of the 19th century there were also fairs in the town, which may prove the town's important role in the Pieniny region!

Kroscienko the subject of literary works!
The village appears in folk poetry, written by Michal Slowik-Dwon, Helena Wolska and Krystyna Aleksander, among others.
